Despite the obvious correlation between eyesight and learning, a lot of parents don't realize how profoundly vision problems affect education, and don't include comprehensive eye exams as part of their child's back to school medical check-up. It's important to know that because vision in children changes, regular eye exams are central to doing well in at school.

New technology brought into the classroom, like interactive whiteboards, can even exacerbate less obvious vision problems. If a child doesn't have good enough vision, it isn't just their school work that suffers. It's mentally and emotionally challenging for them also.
If your son or daughter has already been fitted for glasses, now is a perfect time to see if their prescription is still adequate. If kids don't feel good in their glasses, they will probably avoid wearing them.
