A huge percentage of school-based learning is accomplished visually. Despite the obvious correlation between eyesight and learning, a lot of parents don’t realize how profoundly vision problems affect education, and don’t include comprehensive eye exams as part of their child’s back to school medical check-up. It’s important to know that because vision in children changes, regular eye exams are central to doing well in at school.

Not having the ability to meet the visual requirements of the classroom and school work may significantly affect his/her performance. New technology brought into the classroom, like interactive whiteboards, can even exacerbate less obvious vision problems. If a child doesn’t have good enough vision, it isn’t just their school work that suffers. It’s mentally and emotionally challenging for them also.
